The School 2024 on Information, Noise and Physics of Life

The second edition of the Niš School 2024 on Information, Noise and Physics of Life, will take place from June 17-June 28, 2024 in Niš, Serbia, organized in collaboration between The Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) from Trieste, Italy, the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MISANU) from Belgrade, Serbia, and Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics (PMF), University of Niš, Serbia.

The Niš School 2024 provides key knowledge about the fundamentals of information theory and statistical physics and about the applications to machine learning, biophysics and bioinformatics, being suitable for Masters and PhD students as well as postdocs.

A limited number of grants are available to support participants with priority given to participants from developing countries.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could forward this news to your collaborators and peers, so that the information can reach all the interested M.Sc. students, PhD students and Postdocs.

The ultimate goals of the school are to expand international collaboration and the exchange of scientific and professional knowledge and experience, and to promote active interactions between students and researchers from developed and developing countries.

The lectures require little or no prior knowledge and aim to equip participants with groundbreaking multidisciplinary research in cutting-edge scientific fields and will be organized in 6 courses of 7 hours and two colloquiums of 3 hours and 30 minutes, that will be delivered by the world’s leading experts in the fields of information, noise, and physics of life.

Courses:

  • Leticia Cugliandolo (Sorbonne University, France)
  • Aurélien Decelle (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain)
  • Shamik Gupta (TIFR Mumbai, India)
  • Vojkan Jakšić (McGill University, Canada)
