Seminar: Gravitational Shock Wave Physics and Observational Effects

We are pleased to invite you to the seminar to be held at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Niš, on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, at 12:00 in Hall 100.

The title of the seminar and the lecturers:

“Gravitational shock wave physics and observational effects”

Part I – Dr. E. A. Davydov (BLTP JINR and Dubna State University)
Part II – Prof. Dr. I. G. Pirozhenko (BLTP JINR and Dubna State University)

Abstract I

The first part discusses the formulation of the problem in space with a gravitational shock wave. We demonstrate how to apply the Penrose approach to both flat and curved backgrounds. As an example, we will consider the perturbation of a compact electromagnetic source by null-matter.
