SEENET-MTP Online Seminaron Theoretical Physics

The SEENET-MTP seminar series on Theoretical Physics is aimed at providing review lectures for researchers, postdocs, and students from the SEENET-MTP Countries, Europe, and all over the world on topics in Theoretical Physics, mostly in High-Energy physics and related fields.

The Online seminar in 2025 has two main aims:

  • To allow scientific communication among the SEENET members in the period when the ICTP – SEENET-MTP Program NT03 is not financed
  • To help in the preparation in training of the students and young researchers involved in the CERN – SEENET-MTP – ICTP PhD program.

The first lecturer in 2025 will be

Cosmological results from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument’s Year-3 analysis

Dragan Huterer
(Professor of Physics, Associate Chair for the Physics Graduate Program, University of Michigan)

Abstract: A quarter-century after the discovery of the accelerated expansion of the universe, the constraints on dark energy that powers this acceleration have become very good, but physical nature of dark energy remains elusive. I will present and discuss cosmological results from the measurement of baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) in the three year of observations from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument. These results, when combined with other data, have indicated a possible new anomaly in the behavior of dark energy, and also provided unprecedented constraints on neutrino mass and primordial non-Gaussianity.
