It is with great sadness that we have learned about the passing of George Lazarides, professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
George was a graduate student of Abdus Salam at Imperial College, a Fellow at CERN, and had a postdoc at Rockefeller University.
He is remembered for his seminal results in topological defects, grand unification, supersymmetry, and inflationary models.
George Lazarides was an outstanding physicist, a remarkable person, and an intellectual. He was among the founders of our Network, one of its first members, and promoters.
We miss George Lazarides and will keep memory on him.
