{"id":491,"date":"2018-06-26T13:48:38","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T13:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/phd.seenet-mtp.info\/?p=491"},"modified":"2021-11-09T22:28:50","modified_gmt":"2021-11-09T22:28:50","slug":"nis2018-seenet-mtp-balkan-school-bs2018-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.seenet-mtp.info\/phd\/seminars\/nis-2018\/nis2018-seenet-mtp-balkan-school-bs2018-held\/","title":{"rendered":"[Ni\u01612018] SEENET-MTP Balkan School BS2018 held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The fifth School in the joint <a href=\"http:\/\/phd.seenet-mtp.info\">CERN \u2013 SEENET-MTP PhD Training Program,<\/a> entitled <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/bs2018.seenet-mtp.info\">Balkan School BS2018<\/a> \u2013 <em>High Energy and Particle Physics: Theory and Phenomenology<\/em><\/strong>, was held from 3-10 of June 2018, in Ni\u0161, Serbia.<\/p>\n<p>The School marked the completion of the first cycle of the CERN \u2013 SEENET-MTP Program for PhD students and young scientists.<\/p>\n<p>This final School of the Program was devoted primarily to PhD students in the fields of <strong>Cosmology and High Energy Physics<\/strong>. A total of <strong>40 participants from 10 countries<\/strong> attended the School.<\/p>\n<p>The lectures were held by <strong>Ignatios Antoniadis<\/strong> (<em>String Phenomenology<\/em>), <strong>Lasha Berezhiani<\/strong> (<em>Introduction to Supersymmetry<\/em>), <strong>Paolo Creminelli<\/strong> (<em>Cosmology and Inflation<\/em>), <strong>Emilian Dudas<\/strong> (<em>Standard Model and String Phenomenology<\/em>), <strong>Kyriakos Papadodimas<\/strong> (<em>AdS\/CFT correspondence and Black Holes<\/em>) and <strong>Sergey Sibiryakov<\/strong> (<em>Introduction into Cosmic Structure Formation<\/em>). A guest lecture was held by <strong>Alexei Starobinsky<\/strong> (<em>Inflation: The Present Status<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The School was organized by the SEENET-MTP Centre, the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics, University of Ni\u0161, Serbia and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Craiova, Romania, in cooperation with CERN TH, the ICTP and supported by the European Physical Society and the Central European Initiative.
