Probably the most cited work that has been done partly within Macedonia is: Lj. Kocarev and U Parlitz - General approach for chaotic synchronization with applications to communication, Physical Review Letters 74, 5028 (1995), with 623 citation as of today (21 April 2010) according to Google Scholar. The first author obtained a Ph. D. from our institution and works in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in our university.

Additional info

In the Annual Report of the Institute of Physics in Skopje for 2003, there is a list of 42 published papers (13 papers in peer-review journals, 18 in proceedings from international conferences or internal publications outside Macedonia and 11 articles in the annual issue of Physica Macedonica, publication of the Institute of Physics in Skopje). At that time the Institute had a staff of 31 persons.
