The Theoretical Physics group of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece announces
the opening of an Early Stage Researcher (ESR) position in Theoretical Particle Physics which will be financed by the European Union ITN program “Unification at the LHC era”. The duration of the appointment will be three years, starting in September 1, 2010 and the ESR is expected to defend a PhD thesis at the end of his/her employment. The deadline for submission of applications is February 15, 2010.

RULES FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF ESRs:
The candidate must:
- be a holder of a Masters degree at the time of his/her appointment (September 1, 2010) obtained at the most one year prior to the appointment.
- be a national of a Member State of the Community, of an Associated Country or of any other third country.
- not be a national of Greece, nor have resided or carried out his/her main activity in Greece for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her appointment. As an exception, a national of Greece can be eligible if s/he has legally resided and had his/her main activity in a non Associated third country for at least 3 of the last 4 years immediately prior to his/her appointment. Also, a national of Greece holding more than one nationality can be eligible if (s)he has not resided in Greece during the previous 5 years.
FURTHER INFORMATION
The Thessaloniki group which is involved in the program consists of G. Gounaris, G. Lazarides, C. Panagiotakopoulos and N. Vlachos. The current interests of the group are Electroweak Phenomenology with emphasis on LHC Physics, Exotic Interactions and New Physics, Phenomenology of the MSSM and its extensions, Inflationary Cosmology, Supersymmetric Dark Matter, Neutrino Oscillations.
